FIS Internship Program

Internship Program:

The Family Impact Seminar Program has opportunities for interns from very diverse backgrounds. Goals and interests vary dramatically as well. The flexibility of the internship program allows for an experience that works in everyone's best interest. A quick look at what past interns have done indicates the range of involvement:

Hosted a youth conference and interviewed students about school climate and controversial school policies
Helped to compose and design the FIS briefing report
Interviewed fathers of color about their roles as parents
Helped organize seminars and write briefing reports to educate policy makers and legislators about family issues

Interns are asked to “shadow” several projects over their first few weeks. This allows them to examine available opportunities and either choose one that works best with their own goals, interests, and objectives, or take on multiple projects.
